About this painting . . .
On a tour to Central America to see the ancient mayan ruins, I stumbled across another type of ruins in Antigua, Guatemala. A very old cathedral had collapsed during an earthquake. The soaring arches caught my eye, so I began sketching and taking pictures. Sometime later in my studio, I create this design which became Antigua Ruins.
