About this painting . . .
Along the state of Washington's northern coast are a series of red cliffs that have plenty of allure. The first time I saw them I tried to use my memory to build a painting, but it wasn't very successful. So I went back again when the waves were very high and I had to run out on the beach to take a few photos, while keeping an eye on the waves, for dangerous sneaker waves were a constant threat along that portion of ocean. But I was able to finally capture Coastal Cliffs in a painting.
