About this painting . . .
In Color Energy, I started an experiment by creating swirls of masking fluid. Then I laid down a background of multiple gouache colors. Various colors were applied to areas formerly masked. A geometric design was laid on the background, then masked. Dark and light watercolors were sprayed on unmasked areas to create contrasts. Finally, color was splashed across the painting.
