About this painting . . .
While visiting Nanoose Bay on Canada's Vancouver Island, I was amazed by the colors in the shoreline. I sketched the scene in my travel book. Recently, while experimenting with creating landscapes with acrylics and palette knives, I remembered the beauty of the scene. I took some liberties painting Nanoose Relaxation as a colorful, restful place. I treated the wrap-around canvas with a wash of watercolors before I applied any acrylics.
