About this painting . . .
I have observed the symbols and art of native people from Australia to Kenya, from America's west to Mayan culture in Central America. My own northwest features fascinating art of totems and masks. Recently, I visited the new museum in Washington, D.C., highlighting Indian culture and art throughout the Americas. Fascinated, I began to explore the Native Markings of my own inner world and produced this watercolor.
