About this painting . . .
In South and Central America, I have seen a number of scarlet macaws. But a friend of mine has a rare macaw with beautiful blue, yellow, orange, and green plumage. By giving it a bath of spray water, this parrot was able to play and turn it's body in many positions, which I photographed. On canvas, I used acrylic applied with pallette knives to create The Acrobat and branch, with the background being watercolor and acrylic.
