About this painting . . .
The majority of citizens on the island of Bali in Indonesia are Hindu. Evidence of protection by the Hindu Bali Bodyguard is pervasive. Numerous strange statues stand guard and are marked with a black and white checkered apron. In contrast, gods and goddesses have a gold apron. Because there are temples in many homes and courtyards, I wanted to note how widely such protection is available. February 7, 2007.
