Vietnamese Woman

About this painting . . .

This intriguing Vietnamese Woman was one of the greeters dishing up soup at a shrine close to a ferry stop, where people had to take boats to cross a river. She lived in a small Vietnamese village where the whole town was engaged in making rice paper. The town was on an island in northern Vietnam. This woman readily let me take a number of pictures. She had a charming, sculpted face and I couldn't resist doing a little painting of her.
