About this painting . . .
According to legend, the goddess, Aphrodite, was born close to the Cyprus shore, coming up out of the water on a sea shell. Her scantuary and her bath were on the island, and there were different statutes of her. I used an armless one in this abstract, Aphrodite’s Birth. October 27, 2006
