About this painting . . .
On the island of Cyprus is a remarkable cemetary, with numerous tombs carved out of rock. These underground vaults, called King's Tomb , turned into homes for wealthy citizens, more than dwelling places of the kingly dead. It was another one of the times I just had to start sketching.
