Molokai Hibiscus

About this painting . . .

For numerous years, much of the world didn’t know about the “leper’s colony” hidden away on Molokai. Many people were forced to live in this secluded part of the island, torn away from loved ones. Eventually, the name for the disease changed. A lighthouse, once the brightest in the world, became Hansen’s Disease Beacon, and light began to be placed on that portion of history. January 19, 2005
