About this painting . . .
Amazing faces carved in stone greeted us at an outdoor museum in Villahermosa, Mexico. These pre-Mayan sculptures were allowed to sit outside in all kinds of weather, including the heavy rain I experienced there. I had to sketch Stone Face fast. February 7, 2002
