About this painting . . .
Lilies in the Abstract was my first attempt at creating a watercolor abstract. The first step was to sketch lilies with some repeated forms, most realistic on top, less real toward the bottom. On top of that I superimposed random, radiating lines. The remaining task was to paint the many segments as if I were creating a stained glass window.
