About this painting . . .
One of the finest examples of medieval buildings is in Tallinn, Estonia. Oldtown Estonia is an area within former city walls full of great places to eat, shop, and enjoy this setting from long ago. This scene is of the upper gate, erected by commoners to keep the noisy upper crust from interfering with the sleep of those who had to work.
